Sell and take bookings online without the platform getting in the way.

It’s Friday afternoon and someone notices the checkout has stopped working on mobile. There were two plugin updates this week and a theme update the week before, and nobody is sure which one caused it. The developer who set up the store left a year ago. Orders are still coming in on desktop, so the decision is to leave it until Monday and hope.

For a lot of businesses the online shop is both the biggest source of revenue and the biggest source of support tickets. Stores on WooCommerce, Shopify and Magento start simply, then gather plugins, custom code and workarounds until changing anything feels risky. That fear is the real cost, because the business stops improving the one system that makes most of its money.

We build new stores and take over existing ones. On a new build we work through the catalogue, the customer journey, checkout and payments with Stripe, PayPal, Klarna or GoCardless, and the shipping and VAT rules that catch people out. Where the plugins on offer don’t fit the way a business sells, we write custom ones. Where a booking system needs availability, deposits and confirmations that a plugin can’t handle, we build that too.

A store is only one part of an order, so we connect it to the systems that fulfil it: stock, accounts packages such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks, fulfilment partners, and CRM and email tools like HubSpot and Klaviyo. Once that’s in place, an order moves from checkout to dispatch without anyone typing it in a second time.

When we take over a fragile store, we stabilise it before we add anything. That means removing what isn’t needed, putting updates, backups and a staging site in place, and writing down how it all works. It’s unglamorous work, but it’s what lets you change the site on a Tuesday without worrying about Friday.
